As part of the "Our Woods" festival, local storyteller, Jo Blake Cave, led a couple of twilight walks through Thoroughsale and Hazel Wood, using the activity as a vehicle to bring local stories alive from the past. As she took people on the walk she paused at selected places en route to reveal another imaginative tale. In so doing, Jo brought the rich woodland heritage alive with new meaning in a way that is relevant and connected to the daily lives of local people. Her storeis helped participants gain a deeper understanding of their rural heritage through imaginative re-tellings of the ancient myths, legends and stories associated with Corby’s woodlands.
A PICTORIAL NARRATIVE CELEBRATING JO'S STORIES WILL BE AVAILABLE VIA THIS PAGE SHORTLY!
