Coming Home 2015
In celebration of The Core’s 5th birthday, the Choir directed by Gareth Fuller, with Artistic Director Barb Jungr and musicians George Reilly and Mark Brennan, performed some ‘greatest hits’ alongside new songs about life, love, and more, from their own experiences.
“Whether these songs were conjured by myself and George Reilly and Mark Brennan or by choir members, we arranged and worked on them musically, and then Gareth Fuller arranged the voices. I am thrilled with the work we are creating. The friendships and support, the bonds we have formed, are as real as the steel that this town was famed for. The factories may have closed, but the creative spirit lives on. The roots of Deep Roots Tall Trees get deeper very year, and the trees get taller; for me it feels the most complete of our pieces so far.”
