New Town Pioneers 2013
Featuring all new songs by Barb Jungr and Head of Snakes, "New Town Pioneers" celebrated Corby’s new arrivals, those who remained, and the determination of the human spirit.
From family ("Sweet Things"), work ("Love and Work"), disappointment ("Always Jam Tomorrow"), to the past ("The Things We Used To Make"), the new songs delved deep into the town’s soul in the present day.
The evening was a triumph!

A new choir made up of students from Lodge Park Academy joined the project, creating their own song about being young in Corby.

"The first concert focused on the town’s roots, was staged last November to mark the theatre’s second birthday. The second, led by Barb Jungr, focuses on the pioneering spirit of the people of Corby and the hopes of those who have come to the town since the steelworks closed. The Deep Roots Tall Trees Choir, now with more than 40 members, grew from the group brought together to sing for the Queen during her Diamond Jubilee visit to Corby in June 2012."
