"The Lost Art Of Mushrooming" and "Framing Fungi"
For "Our Woods", John Haughton will be leading two sessions on Sunday 2nd October 2016 entitled: "The Lost Art Of Mushrooming" and "Framing Fungi".
The first week of October is peak mushroom season with the many forms, colours and species at their most visible. Fungi specialist John Haughton will be leading a two-part mushroom identification and photography workshop.
In Session One - "The Lost Art Of Mushrooming", we discover the many varieties of mushroom found throughout Kings Wood. John reveals how to spot these fascinating organisms often overlooked on the forest floor. In addition to lunch, we’ll sample a selection of edible mushrooms.
Session 2 - "Framing Fungi" is aimed at anyone wishing to sharpen their fungi photography skills. John shares his own explorations capturing the mushrooms’ fleeting presence. Come along and meet like-minded fungi enthusiasts, bringing your camera (smart phone or SLR). Kneeling mats are provided.
