Katharine Thoday
STOP PRESS: If you missed Kate's talk on 19th January - or even if you didn't and would like a copy - you can download here presentation on "Woods in the Global Context" HERE.
Katharine Thoday is a sustainability professional experienced in incentivising environmental governance and decision making. She was the UK Government's advisor on international forestry and climate change and in her spare time occasionally partakes in coppicing in her local Cambridgeshire woods.
As part of "Our Wood" she will be giving a talk entitled: "Woods in the Global Context". BOOK HERE
Deforestation and land use change account for approximately 11% of global carbon dioxide emissions. As the majority of the world’s population for the first time live in urban areas, understanding how to value and care for woodland in an urban context is increasingly vital. This talk will explore how Corby’s experience compares with urban forest management around the world and discuss lessons and opportunities.
