- Dreaming Our Woods - song lyrics
What was "Our Woods"?
"Trees and woods are at the base of everything, they support us on this planet. They give us clear air & water and support us through building material and fuel. They are at a basis of our existence, but they also give us joy, to look at, to wander in between. I enjoy observing their variety and graciousness and love walking." Rhoda Bertz – Our Woods artist from Germany.
Our Woods was a multi-event festival for everyone to celebrate, enjoy and dare to try something new in and around the woods of Corby.
Woodlands are a vital aspect of modern life, and in Corby we are uniquely fortunate to have these ancient woodlands at the heart of our town.
The woods keep us in touch with nature and our local environment. They are good for the soul. They are alive.
Our Woods featured a huge range of friendly and welcoming events. There are over 40 of them – something for everyone!
Going on a discovery walk - making new connections through dance - climbing trees – printmaking – drawing - listening to storytellers - hearing about the history of our woods - learning about mushrooms – enjoying music… and much, much more.
These events led up to a final performance, Dreaming Our Woods, at The Core on 5, 6, 7 May 2017 - an amazing light, sound and movement extravaganza.
Our Woods was designed for everyone to enjoy, whether you live in or around Corby or came from afar.
